Having full root-level access signifies that you can access and update any file on a specific server, including all system files, and to change system settings or set up server-side software which may be needed by certain scripts and even offline applications to function effectively. A server is accessed at the root level via a root user, who has full privileges to do any of the abovementioned tasks. The root user can also make other users. For security reasons, you're advised to have another account for routine tasks and to use the root account only if you actually need to do a specific task on your server. The root-level access function will give you full control of your server from any kind of location, as long as you have the user credentials.
Full Root-level Access in VPS Servers
The Linux VPS servers which we supply are appropriate for different purposes, depending on what you want to set up and run on them and the experience that you have. If the server is provided with the cPanel or the DirectAdmin web hosting Control Panel, you'll have full root access and will be able to control your world-wide web content through a graphical interface, whereas you may still install server-side apps that may be needed by your websites and even by offline apps, like VoIP software, media encoding software, various frameworks, etcetera. Without any Control Panel, you will also have full root-level access, but you'll need to do everything using a console. When you choose to use our in-house made Hepsia hosting Control Panel, there'll be certain root access restrictions, but this configuration is the most convenient to control. Thus, you can choose the virtual server plan that you really need.
Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Servers
Each dedicated server that we offer features full root-level access, if the server is ordered without a Control Panel, or with cPanel or DirectAdmin. If you'd like to set up and run heavy, resource-demanding apps and they have specific requirements with regard to the server software environment that cannot be fulfilled by a regular shared hosting plan, our servers will be the right solution. Without Control Panel at hand, you're able to access the server and update its settings and the content that you upload through a console, while with cPanel and DirectAdmin, you will use a graphical interface to control everything related to your web content, and most server-side settings. Needless to say, if you get a dedicated server without a Control Panel, you can set up some third-party software instrument manually, as long as it is compatible with the Operating System that you have chosen at signup. If you select our Hepsia Control Panel from the order page, you will have restricted root access, but you can still perform quite a lot of things through a Secure Shell console.
